We've got together with AppleHead gravity sports to make this happen again this year... a chance to skate on an empty motorbike race track in the depths of English winter! This is the third Cadwell event, those that went to the last two will know it may be cold, but its a cracking day out. Pictures and a write up of last year can be found here.
We've got a similar setup to previous years, here are the details.
>A mellow freeride hill, the scene in previous years of some how-close-can-you-get-in-the-corners action, perfect for beginners and with a short-cut walk back up again.
>A small but steep slide hill, this is where you want to be going if your wheels are harder and you like to go sideways. This year we have both the corners after the initial drop closed too, which should make things a bit more interesting - have a look at the map below for more info on that.
>Slalom will be fully open to all entrants this year, so bring your slalom setup and give it a go! Single Lane Giant Slalom will be running with a timing system, so you'll get a time for each run. Fastest time of the day takes home a bag of goodies, and this is a great opportunity to lay down some times and see how you fair at this cone-wiggling malarky if you've never done it before.
>Then there's the "Big hill" for going fast on... But this year we have an extra twist in the form of a Speed Trap competition. We'll have a fixed position light beam speed trap at the fastest point on the hill, and the idea is pretty simple - prizes and glory for the fastest speed on the hill!! We might even resort to draft trains and tow-ins if people are up for it... Come and see how good your tuck is!
Signup is £15 until the 20th December, at which point the price will increase to £20. All the cash is going to Applehead to cover insurance and track hire.
WEAR YOUR HELMETS! no helmet, no ride. simple. You will not be allowed on the track without a helmet. Additional saftey gear like leathers, pads and gloves is at the riders discretion. If you're on the "Big Hill" Leathers are a really, really good idea.
Once you have signed up you will be emailed (or posted if you havn't got an email) a disclaimer, which you will need to fill in and bring with you. The disclaimer will be swapped at signup for a wristband which will give you access to the track.
There will be uplifts on the big hill only, but space will be very limited so be prepared to walk a bit.
Free camping is available to all riders.
You must signup in advance, we cannot accept on the day entries.
