Who are you guys? We're a group of people in the UK who have been making longboards for about twelve years now, and became a proper business in 2001. We started in Bath, moved to Sheffield for University, went through a series of progressively larger and more chaotic workshops, then moved to Bristol and we've been here ever since. We've seen it all - road trips, a home made wheel welling machine, climbing problems in the woodyard, melted wheels, 2am 100mph ferry dashes, flatspots, snapped hangers, delaminated decks and a woodshop so cold you had to use a gas heater to get the varnish to go off. We use all this experience to bring you the best longboard completes, decks, trucks, wheels and accesories we can make, as well as help the scene out by sponsoring riders, organising and helping with events, running a Forum and Blog, supporting skateshops the right way, and just being here on the end of a phone for some advice and a chat. Why should I get a longboard? Because they are a lot of fun, and crucially, turn better and roll faster than a regular skateboard. As well as being a great way to commute around thanks to those big soft wheels and turny trucks, they will help your surfing and snowboarding, make you look cooler, and give you a reason to get excited about hill incline measurements and asphalt variation. We love longboarding in all its forms and we think you will, too! Back to top
How do I choose which board to get? An important decision! If you can decide what you want to use it for - eg speed, carving, bowls or cruising around, you'll be at a good starting place to be looking through our lineup. Each of our boards fulfils quite a specific role, so you should be able to get it down to two or three choices quite easily. If you're still stuck, get on the Forums or Contact Us for some impartial advice - or better yet, go into your local skateshop and have a chat with them! Back to top
What's the deal with your "suggested max weight" on some boards? Flex is important on a longboard. We provide "Suggested Max Weights" on most decks to give you an idea of what deck will be most suitable for your needs. They are guidelines rather than hard and fast rules - so don't worry about going over them a bit if you want a flexier ride. However if you go with a board that rated to much less than your weight, bear in mind that it isn't designed for you and may fail. Back to top
How do I get involved in the scene/find out about upcoming events? Check out our Forums! Lots of like-minded skate-obsessed fools on there. For events, check out the Calendar - updated regularly! It is worth checking out the Lush Blog and Facebook for regular updates and connections. Also if you're in the UK, check out our friends at Longboard Sessions - a dedicated place for UK based skaters to organise sessions and meet ups. Back to top
How do I get sponsored by you? Skate a lot and have fun. If you do that enough then we'll find you! Back to top
Where are your Lush Longboards manufactured? We currently make all of our boards in Taiwan. We have used woodshops in the UK, USA, Switzerland, and China - none have matched the quality, service and working conditions that we are able to get in our current woodshop. Unlike most of the skate industry, we strongly believe in transparency with our manufacturing, as we know how important quality is to you as a skater. You can trust us, we skate the same things as you! For more information check out the workshop. Back to top
